Editor & Publisher offers its annual look at who might be frontrunners for the 2009 Pulitzer Prizes in the 14 journalism categories. I was pleased to see the astounding investigative team from The Detroit Free Press among those discussed:
Indeed, the exposure and ultimate resignation of Kwame Kilpatrick would never have happened without the Freep. We can thank them for the $1 million in restitution that Kilpatrick is ordered to pay back to the City, and our opportunity this year to elect a new leader to the top office. The winner will likely be businessman and Piston Hall-of-Famer Dave Bing or interim Mayor Ken Cockrel--both men that, I can say with great relief, I respect.
