Dear Detroiters and neighbors,
I suspect that you, like me, would like to see Detroit be a more vibrant literary
city, with excellent readings, discussions, and workshops. Some of us
bookish enthusiasts have learned that one key reason why authors aren't
coming to Detroit for book events is because they aren't even sure where an event could take place ... or who in the community could host them.
So, let's change that. Or rather, lets bring together the momentum
of readers and writers already here into a more cohesive and proactive
force.
Come join me and others who are putting together a lit team to bring book events to Detroit. This is affiliated with Write a House, which I'll tell you all about later.
Let's meet
for brainstorming and beer (I recommend the honey porter) on Wednesday, December 5, 6:30-8pm at Motor
City Brewing Works.
All are welcome. Coming for all or part of the
meeting doesn't commit you to anything; we're just looking for the
brilliance of ideas that we can boil into first steps toward a more vibrant
literary culture in the city.
Your friend,
Anna
Anna, I cannot make it tomorrow due to a coaching commitment, but would love to hear more and be a part of this if possible.

I'm really interested in this idea and I'm interested in helping out, too, but I can't make tomorrow night's meeting.

I'll keep you both in the loop -- I'm making an email list and will be following up with folks. Thanks for the interest and support!
