It's not just turkeys. When we lived in Texas I heard stories about cattle breeds that have so much meat on them they can no longer mate unless you dig a trench for the heifer to stand in, because the the bulls are now too large to mount. At least I can understand why growers have bred animals like this: they make more money. What I don't understand is what we've done to some dog breeds. Some bulldog breeds have to have C-section deliveries, because the puppies heads are now too large for the mothers to bear them normally. Now what's the benefit there? That breed was already butt-ugly; now it's both ugly and utterly dependent on human medical care to procreate. Some people suck....
