This sounds like a good group.

Unfortunately, there aren't enough Warren Wilson people on this side of the state to get anything like that going here.

Actually, none of them live in Michigan; we're all over the place! Email and other digital communications is our only way of working. I was skeptical if that could be a sustainable model at first, because I really think the energy of in-person interaction is so important. But so far, it's worked well--maybe because it's simply consistent.

You know, here's a thought: if you wanted a poetry group that doesn't require close proximity, maybe you could pitch it to WWC'ers on the email list, or in the next newsletter, or through Amy.

Isak

  • Isak is a space to celebrate tales and truth in the curious, joyful way embodied by the writer for which it is named. The name "Isak," after all, means "laughter," as she was fond of pointing out.

By tales, I mean fiction (especially short fiction), as well as other literary and artistic narratives. By truth, I mean the world in which we live. I especially have my eye on creative social justice.
