I'm still traveling in the north country, but life elsewhere, of course, goes on and deserves mentioning:
As has been widely reported, Irish writer Frank McCourt--whose book, Angela's Ashes, revived the modern memoir movement and won the Pulitzer Prize--has died. (Thanks to Amy H. for first letting me know!)
