In this month's issue of Hobart, I got the chance to host a (digital) roundtable with two talented authors: Katie Bowler and Matthew Specktor. Bowler, a poet, and Specktor, a novelist, have both published their first books this fall. In our conversation, we discuss how they've navigated the experience as new authors, how they respond to the notion that first books are generally autobiographical, writerly estrangement, and much more. Go take in what these two smarty-pants have to say; then go buy their books.
This sounds so interesting. I'm off to check it out. Thanks!
