A hilarious twist on The New Yorker's 20 Under 40 list of established literary luminaries is the Ward Six List of 10 Over 80 -- and, even better, it's actually a great list of "writers to go back and read" because they all "have been kicking ass for longer than we have been alive."
This take might've been expanded to 15 Under 80 to make room for José Saramago, Milan Kundera, Ursula LeGuin, Gabriel García Márquez, and Chinua Achebe (even though Achebe is a few months shy of qualifying).
Just saying.
