Is there a larger movement for boycotting going on, or are you just expressing your own stance? Was just curious if there were conversations going on that I wasn't aware of. I stopped taking HuffPo seriously a long time ago.

As far as I know, this is just me. I think I've heard broader calls now and then, but I'm not sure if anything organized ever materialized.

You know what this site needs? More slideshows telling us things that we already know like HuffPo...

Harvard is hard to get into!
New York is an expensive place to live!
English people live in England!

But seriously, until you mentioned it on Twitter that they didn't pay their writer's, I was unaware of that. Unfortunately, I think their tactics are a normal byproduct of the competitiveness of some online "journalism" (linkbaiting, sensationalism). $300+ Million to AOL sadly proves that it's working.

Isak

  • Isak is a space to celebrate tales and truth in the curious, joyful way embodied by the writer for which it is named. The name "Isak," after all, means "laughter," as she was fond of pointing out.

By tales, I mean fiction (especially short fiction), as well as other literary and artistic narratives. By truth, I mean the world in which we live. I especially have my eye on creative social justice.
