thanks for this roundtrip around the world with 10 authors. i just bookmarked it (arrived here via Sam Rasnake). it's something i thought and blogged about yesterday, from a slightly different angle: the regions we pay or don't pay attention to when it comes to books, a topic sparked by a global reading challenge that seeks to motivate readers to read outside their usual comfort / reading zones: http://virtual-notes.blogspot.com/2012/03/world-in-7-books-or-mapping-our-world.html

Cheers & Viele Grüße from Germany

  • Isak is a space to celebrate tales and truth in the curious, joyful way embodied by the writer for which it is named. The name "Isak," after all, means "laughter," as she was fond of pointing out.

By tales, I mean fiction (especially short fiction), as well as other literary and artistic narratives. By truth, I mean the world in which we live. I especially have my eye on creative social justice.
